Meet your trainer
Hi, I'm Summer.
I'm a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) and Licensed Family Dog Mediator (LFDM-T). I specialize in helping families understand dogs who are struggling—and finding practical ways to support them.
My approach is relationship-based and informed by ethology, the study of animal behavior. We consider your dog's individual needs, emotional experience, and environment, alongside the needs of your family.
We work toward greater safety, trust, and communication through reward-based teaching and thoughtful management. Your dog does not have to be pushed into a reaction for your concerns to be heard.

A clear place to begin.
Tell me what's happening
Reach out with your dog's age, the behaviors that concern you, and what you'd like life together to look like. Please mention any bite history.
Understand your dog
In a behavior consultation, we review history, routine, triggers, and expectations. Together, we identify a workable starting point.
Practice with support
Learn practical exercises and management strategies. Follow-up coaching helps you refine your skills and adapt the plan as your dog progresses.

Before you get started
Can you help with a dog who has bitten?
I work with behavior concerns that include bite histories. Tell me what happened before scheduling so we can assess fit and plan appropriately. Learn about aggression support.
How is your approach different?
My approach combines positive reinforcement training with personalized behavior support, thoughtful management, enrichment, and clear communication. We choose practical tools that support safety and learning, including appropriate leashes, harnesses, barriers, and positive muzzle conditioning when useful.
What if my dog is too stressed for a class?
Private behavior coaching allows us to tailor the setting and pace to your dog. We can discuss whether a class makes sense later.
Can you guarantee a cure?
No. Progress depends on the dog, the situation, and the support available. We set realistic goals for safety and quality of life; some dogs will continue to need management.
A practical place to start
You don't have to figure this out alone.
Tell me what life with your dog looks like right now. We'll start with understanding, safety, and a plan that fits your family.
